Looking forward to Company from Gaffney

Doris, Chuck's sister, Erin, her daughter, Taylor and Evan will visit this weekend. On Sunday Doris will take Erin to a camp in Ocoee where Erin will work for a week while Doris will spend some time at her home with the two grandchildren. I am hoping they will have a good visit and get to see some of Chattanooga's wonderful sites.

As you may have noticed in some of Beth's photos we are back into business with the pool. Please family, enjoy and visit anytime. The water is not warm enough for me yet as I prefer 87 degrees to swim in. Cooper seems to enjoy the water no matter what the temperature.

Three new paintings in the den since school has been out. Chuck has about three more weeks to paint three more before school starts back and Cooper comes to visit again. Better hurry!!!

We had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend. Becky planned a family get together at the Ringgold Children's Park and I was able to see two of my brothers which I have not seen in several weeks. It seems like we all have a more difficult time getting out and visiting. After last summer's three weddings and a baby I think we may all still be resting up.

Brother Bob spends most of his time caring for other people or for his properties. He has several of his own to manage and cut grass on. He also has a yard to cut for his mother in law who is now living with him and his wife Barbara.

Gene has been retired several years and is lonesome for family. It would be so nice if he lived in Ringgold as he is getting to the years where driving is difficult and he so much loves to visit. Duma, his wife prefers to stay at home and tend to her gardens. They both miss their daughter Donna very much who passed away with MS several years ago. Nothing has been able to replace the happiness she brought into their lives.

Richard now lives in Chickamauga and has COPD which is a lung disease which makes it very difficult to beathe. He misses getting out and seeing people. He used the excuse of "selling hot dogs" to get out in the public and enjoy being around others. He had to work really hard and the heat was not good for his health. He always gave away moe than he sold as he was always wanting to thank police offices, firemen, and other public servans who stopped by to visit the hot dog stand in Chickamauga.

Sister Nina has retired from the Catoosa County Public Library and is enjoying spending her days with Jack. The Catoosa County Recreation ball complex is named "Jack Mattox Recreation" after Jack. He grew the recreation program in Catoosa to new heights and so many people wanted to recognize him when the new complex was built.

We still miss Martha. Can't say enough about that so we will wait until another day.
God has been so very gracious to provide me with a wonderful family to be born into. I thank Him daily for his provision.
